High-Efficiency Pipe Flocculator

Microstax coagulation flocculation system

STAX – Optimize Chemical Dosing & Flocculation Without Moving Parts

The STAX system is an engineered inline flocculation system designed as an alternative to traditional, energy-intensive mechanical coagulation flocculation tanks. Using optimized turbulent flow, our pipe flocculator ensures precise chemical dispersion, promoting the rapid formation of large, dense flocs for enhanced downstream separation prior to a Dissolved Air Flotation system or Inclined Plate Clarifier. Ideal for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment where high-quality clarification is required.

What is a Pipe Flocculator?

A pipe flocculator (or floc tube) is a plug-flow reactor that uses an engineered serpentine pipe to mix chemicals (coagulants/flocculants) with influent. Unlike mechanical mixers, our pipe flocculator utilizes gentle hydraulic turbulence to build stronger flocs while minimizing energy consumption and maintenance.

How the STAX System Works

The system operates on a plug-flow principle, ensuring uniform retention time and constant mixing energy throughout the pipe cross-section.

  1. Coagulation: Wastewater enters the system where coagulants (like alum or ferric chloride) are injected to destabilize suspended particles.
  2. Mixing: A series of wide-radius bends or 90-degree elbows create the ideal level of turbulence for chemical-particle collisions without shearing fragile flocs.
  3. Flocculation: Flocculants (polymers) are added at subsequent dosing points. The extended contact time in the pipe allows micro-flocs to aggregate into larger macro-flocs, which are easily removed in downstream processes like Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF).

Why Choose Pipe Flocculation?

  • Zero Energy Consumption: Relies on the water pressure of your existing feed pump system.
  • Low Maintenance: No moving parts, gearboxes, or motors to service.
  • Small Footprint: Compact, vertical serpentine design saves valuable space.
  • Reduced Chemical Costs: Superior mixing efficiency ensures optimal coagulant usage.

⭐️Key Features – STAX

  • Engineered Mixing Zones: Specially designed pipe diameters and long-radius bends ensure uniform, gentle mixing throughout the entire cross-section, preventing dead spots.
  • Multi-Stage Chemical Dosing: Dedicated ports for coagulant, pH adjustment, and polymer injection, ensuring optimal reaction times.
  • Durable Construction: Built from corrosion-resistant PVC, CPVC, polypropylene, or Stainless Steel (304/316) to handle aggressive chemical environments.
  • Uniform Floc Quality: Ensures all particles are subjected to identical mixing energy, leading to highly predictable and uniform floc growth.
  • Zero Energy Mixing: Uses the water’s own hydraulic energy for mixing, requiring no electrical power for mechanical agitation.
  • Compact Footprint: Ideal for facilities with limited space, often provided in modular, skid-mounted assemblies.
  • Minimal Maintenance: With no moving parts, the system avoids common issues like motor failure or seal wear.
  • Modular & Customizable: Available in standard and custom configurations (up to 4000+ GPM) to match your specific flow requirements.
