Features
The Pan America Environmental TPi (Tilted Plate Interceptor) series is a family of API421 Section 4 Parallel Plate Oil Water Separators based steel, above grade and at grade concrete coalescing oil water separator designs that can be applied to many applications where oils, fuels, solids and many petroleum derived products are present. The TPi is designed for high solids applications.
Benefits
- Proven traditional design for reliability
- Flow rates from 5 to 2000 + GPM
- Construction: Coated carbon steel, 304/316 SS, concrete, polypropylene/polyethylene
- Many possible integrated options
- Variety of plate spacings and pack angles
- Highly customizable design
Process Overview
The TPi design is most commonly used wherever crudes, oils, fuels and solids can come into contact with a wastestream.
How It Works
The TPi places a volume of Wave Plate coalescing media packs into the waste stream, the tank’s flow path brings the oils and solids bearing water to the influent end of the plate pack, it flows diagonally through the pack where oils then encounter the plate surface and are effectively separated from the water, the oil droplets roll up the plate surface begin to coalesce into larger droplets. Then, the larger droplets increased buoyancy pulls the oils away from the surface rising to the water surface. The solids removal functions similarly dropping into the tank hopper bottom.
