Recycle Saturation System

Features

The Pan America Environmental RSS (Recycle Saturation System) series is a family of  recycle system for the use with Dissolved Flotation Systems and can be provided for many retrofit or new build applications where solids, oils, fuels and many other products are present. Applications can include: Food processing, animal processing, FRAC water, Industrial water, manufacturing wastewaters, refineries, steel mill process water, heavy equipment washwater.

Benefits

  • Proven traditional design for reliability
  • Flow rates: 5 to 2500 GPM +
  • Construction: Coated carbon steel,  304/316 SS
  • Many possible integrated options
  • Highly customizable design

Process Overview

The RSS design is most commonly used with DAF systems wherever crudes, oils, fuels and solids can come into contact with a wastestream and the process requires flotation of the contaminants.

How It Works

The RSS (Recycle Saturation System) pumps treated water from the effluent end of the DAF tank, passes it through a pressurized saturation tank where the water is subjected to a pressurized air source, which then instantly supersaturates the water with air or nitrogen. Once this supersaturated and pressurized water stream is released into the DAF tank inlet the pressure is immediately reduced to ambient wherein the effervescing bubbles that come out of solution attach themselves to the solids, oils and other materials in the water. After the aerated mass enters the flotation chamber the water velocity into the tank is drastically reduced to allow a quiescent environment to promote quick flotation of the aerated masses to the chamber surface.
